We were pick-up from Tawau and spent one night in a nice Semporna Hotel. The next morning we were transported to Mabul island where we spent a few nights in a perfect bliss vacation in a beach chalet at Sipadan Mabul Resort.
Our dives at Sipadan were truly impressive. We only had one day with three dives available. We saw massive turtles, amazing coral, fish and other sea life. However, the sea was a bit rough with strong currents under the water so we had a little bit of difficulty in sighting the sea life with details. Nonetheless, as I mentioned before, the experience was still amazing. We would get dropped off on Sipadan Island for an hour break between the three dives where we were also provided with asian food, rice, fish sandwiches, soda juices, and some fruits. There was a toilet block, an army house, remains of an old building and lots of free space.
This brought an end to my trip in Borneo. We took a cab from Semporna to the airport to catch a plane back to Kota Kinabalu from where we were supposed to board on a flight to Manila and then another to dive Puerto Princesa in Palawan Island, a group of Philippines islands. And so I bid my farewell to Borneo.
